So what’s it all about? Stratford Trashion Week was started in 2017 to inspire and encourage change in the way we look at our wardrobes and consumer habits while sharing tools for all of us to make more sustainable fashion choices for a healthier world.
What exactly is Trashion? Trashion is a form of eco-conscious fashion that transforms discarded materials, waste or unwanted items into wearable garments and accessories. Rooted in sustainability and artistic expression, trashion challenges conventional fashion norms by giving new life to what would otherwise be considered trash, promoting environmental awareness and creative reuse.
What is ReFashion? ReFashion is the process of reimagining and transforming pre-loved, outdated or discarded clothing and textiles into new, stylish and functional garments. Rooted in sustainability, ReFashion emphasizes creativity, waste reduction and conscious consumption, offering an alternative to fast fashion by celebrating the potential of what already exists.
