TOM CAMPBELL Artist’s Talk – Sunday, August 13 @ 11am

Tom Campbell, “Beneath”, oil on canvas, 36 x 36 inches

Join us to hear Tom Campbell talk about his latest sculptures and paintings, carefully observed and beautifully articulated depictions of people at leisure. Born in England to theatre actors Douglas Campbell and Ann Casson, Tom grew up in Stratford and studied fine arts at Camden Art Centre and Camberwell School of Art in London, England. Upon his return to Canada in 1982, he began to paint full-time and soon received recognition for his work: he was awarded an Art Forms Prize from the Kitchener-Waterloo Gallery in 1984, was given his first solo exhibition at Gallery Stratford and became a gallery artist at Bau-Xi Gallery (Toronto and Vancouver) in 1985. He has exhibited regularly since and teaches at Toronto School of Art and in Ikaria, Greece.
