RUTH ABERNETHY Artist’s Talk – Sunday, July 3 @ 11am

AGORA GALLERY is delighted to present its first artist’s talk of the summer! Acclaimed sculptor RUTH ABERNETHY will talk about her most recent portrait commissions – including John A. Macdonald and John McCrae – as well as her studio work currently on display at Agora Gallery as part of the Summer Exhibition. Perhaps best known to Stratford residents as the sculptor who created “Raising the Tent” outside the Festival Theatre, Abernethy has recreated in bronze many important Canadian and international figures, including Glenn Gould, Oscar Peterson, John Hirsch and Tom Hendry. Her studio work combines her skillful use of materials (such as bronze, stainless steel & other materials) with exploration of universal themes and a playful spirit.
