Join us to hear acclaimed theatre designer and artist, John Pennoyer, talk about his new paintings, currently on display in Agora Gallery’s Summer Exhibition. After graduating from McMaster University, Pennoyer began his theatre career as a props apprentice at the Stratford Festival in 1972 and went on to study design under Daphne Dare, Stratford’s first Head of Design. He has designed many memorable productions over the years for the Stratford Festival, as well as for the National Arts Centre, Tarragon Theatre, Young People’s Theatre, Le Theatre Francaise de Toronto, The National Ballet of Canada, The Canadian Opera Company, Le Theatre du Trident in Quebec, The Banff Festival, Shakespeare & Co. in Lenox MA, Minneapolis Children’s Theatre, The Welsh National Opera and Tawandang Brewery in Bangkok. Pennoyer currently lives in Halifax, where he lectures in Costume Studies at Dalhousie University.
