“With only four days left before Stratford’s Agora Gallery closes for the season, there’s still plenty of Canada 150 themed art to appreciate.

Having been on display at the gallery since Oct. 1, Agora’s current exhibition, “The Canadian Landscape: A Wilder View”, was conceived to mark the 150th anniversary of Confederation, and expands on the idealized view of the landscapes painted by the Group of Seven.

“I really wanted to do something that celebrated Canada, but also looked at the questions about Canada and the land that we’re discussing now because of Canada 150,” said Cindy Hubert, curator and owner of Agora Gallery.

“It is a landscape show, but it’s not your usual landscape show in that they’re really beautiful paintings and there are some incredible pieces, but it’s also a more realistic look at Canada.”
